Marlene Kay Siblerud, 69, of Somers died in a three-vehicle crash Monday morning on U.S. 93 just south of Somers.

The other two drivers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Their names were not released.

Siblerud was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Montana Highway Patrol. The two surviving drivers were wearing their seat belts.

The chain of events began when Siblerud turned northbound on U.S. 93 from old U.S. 93 at 10:51 a.m. and drifting into the southbound lane.

Her GMC Envoy sideswiped a 1989 Ford F-150, causing it to spin out of control. The collision deflated the front left tire of the Envoy, which continued northbound in the southbound lane and collided head-on with a 2005 Chevy Silverado.

The Silverado overturned, coming to rest on its right side. The Envoy driven by Siblerud stopped upright in the turn lane. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Trooper Jim Schneider said that no citations have been issued pending the investigation of the accident. He said the scene of the accident was close to a new condominium development near Somers Bay.

Alcohol and speed were not factors in the accident.

Siblerud is the 11th person to die in crashes on Flathead County roads this year.
