13 Black 20th in California volleyball

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Flathead Volleyball Club 13 Black team wrapped up a successful trip to the California Finals by placing 20th in a field of 65 teams.

Competing in the U14 Division, 13 Black finished the four-day event with an overall record of 6-4.

On Tuesday, 13 Black competed in the 49er Bracket, which was the third highest seeded bracket out of nine. The team defeated Force Elk Grove 25-15, 25-18, then fell in the semifinals to Davis Volleyball Club 25-20, 25-20.

On Monday, City Beach Green defeated 13 Black 25-22, 25-22, and NorCal topped the local team 25-10, 25-5.

Playing for 13 Black were: Hannah Liss, Nouf Rashoodi, Jenna McGuire, Timi Severson, Emma Andrews, Lizzie Sherwood, Becca Marshall and Jessica Simmons.
