Lakers AA split with Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, Alberta -The Kalispell Lakers opened a four-game road swing through Canada on Wednesday by splitting with the Lethbridge Spitz Elks in Class AA American Legion baseball action.
Lethbridge used a grand slam home run by Tyson Hudson in the third inning of the opener to roll to a 13-2 victory.
Ben Sansaver homered in the fifth inning for the Lakers. It was Sansaver's first round-tripper.
Mario Venturini (7-1) suffered his first loss of the season.
Kalispell did bounce back in the second game, topping Lethbridge 10-6.
Zach Brosten had a solo home run for Kalispell in the fourth inning of that contest, and Joe Pistorese, in relief, struck out six in three innings.
Sansaver and Michael O'Connell had back-to-back two RBI singles in the Lakers' five run second inning.
The Lakers led 7-2 after three innings.
Kalispell, 9-3 league and 23-10 overall, plays a doubleheader today, 4 p.m., at Medicine Hat.
