Kalispell city officials scheduled a press conference for 9:30 this morning to make an announcement about the city manager selection.

Jane Howington, the Dayton, Ohio, assistant city manager, was offered the job following a special Kalispell council session Monday night.

She has been negotiating with Interim City Manager Myrt Webb, Mayor Pam Kennedy and Council President Duane Larson since Tuesday morning.

"We've been working on an employment agreement with Mrs. Howington and, basically, at her request we are going to inform the public about the results of that process tomorrow," Webb said Thursday.

"We're really close here," Webb said. "She just asked that there not be any announcement until Friday. We're just honoring her request."
