Comment sought on trails grant

The North Shore Nordic Club invites the public to comment on its proposed Nordic Ski Trail program being prepared for a Fish, Wildlife and Parks Recreational Trails Grant for 2010.

The North Shore Nordic Club maintains cross-country ski trails along Foothill Road near the junction of Foothill and Jewel Basin roads north of Bigfork.

"For the coming season we intend to use the Recreational Trails Grant money to improve drainage on existing forest roads and to clear dead and downed woody material from ski pathways through the forest," said Dave Hadden, the club's president.

"We also intend to purchase a new snowmobile and grooming equipment to provide more efficient, better and quieter grooming."
