A passerby called Flathead County Sheriff's deputies after allegedly seeing a man strike a woman. Turns out the altercation, which occurred in a car in an Evergreen parking lot, involved lots of hand-waving and yelling but wasn't physical. The man and woman were separated.

A car stopped in a driveway on Morning View Drive and then followed the resident to work. Deputies were unable to find the suspicious vehicle.

Deputies were called to Watts Lane after a resident thought the man who knocked on the door looking for a missing 17-year-old girl was odd and called authorities. Turns out someone was just investigating a civil claim.

A parent allegedly left two young children in a running vehicle outside a Lakeside school.

Deputies are investigating reports of a combination stalking and child pornography complaint.

Wood was stolen on North Cedar Drive.

Someone broke into a building on Swan Way, but the owners were unsure Friday what was taken.

Deputies were called to check on an intoxicated man on Conrad Drive.

A disturbance was reported on Gladys Glen Road in Coram. Deputies also broke up verbal altercations between men and women on Big Mountain and Bald Rock Road.

Deputies were asked to settle a dispute between a landlord and tenant on U.S. 93 near Whitefish.

Deputies received 116 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Kalispell police

A Ridgeview Drive woman called Kalispell police after receiving in the mail a scam postcard saying she won $2 million, but needs to pay $2,500 up front to collect.

A man allegedly bought cigarettes for an underage boy at a convenience store on U.S. 93 South. The boy in question had earlier tried to buy the tobacco himself, but was denied.

Someone stole a mirror off the wall of an Airport Road bar.

Officers were called to assist with a hysterical 16-year-old girl at Flathead County Youth Court.

A Harlequin Court man needed officers to remove his sister, who had been kicked out of the home for stalking his roommate, from the premises. She reportedly was there shoveling snow.

Later, a woman came into the station to tell officers that her brother, who had kicked her out, was keeping his roommate hostage.

Officers received 52 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of DUI during a traffic stop on Central Avenue.

Officers received 27 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police arrested a 15-year-old boy shoplifting food from a grocery store on Nucleus Avenue.

Officers received 15 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Alarms

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to a motel on U.S. 93 South to treat a person with leg pain.

The Bigfork Fire Department was paged out to what ended up being a controlled burn.

The Kalispell Fire Department, Somers Fire Department, and Lakeside Quick Response Unit responded to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 93 near mile marker 101.
