Sentinel drops Glacier in loser-out contest

BUTTE - Missoula Sentinel cashed in from the free throw line, going 19-or-19 in the fourth quarter alone, in downing Glacier 77-65 on Friday in a morning loser-out contest at the Class AA state boys basketball tournament.

The Spartans, 13-10 overall, were 26-for-29 for the game. Glacier went to the free throw line 15 times and made 10.

The game was tied at 53-all heading into the fourth quarter.

Glacier, 15-8, tied the contest a final time at 60-all on a 3-point play by Ben Sansaver with 5:16 remaining. But Sentinel answered seconds later when Zach Wagenmann hit a trey. That put the Spartans on top for good at 63-60.

Glacier's Ben Cutler finished with a game-high 28 points, 19 coming in the first half. Cutler was 5-for-7 from 3-point range. Sansaver was next with 12 points.

Riley King led Sentinel in scoring with 22 points. Kendal Maier added 19 points, Wagenmann tossed in 13 and Ben Roberts 12.
