Loyd 'Alan' Meyers, 47

| March 24, 2009 1:00 AM

Loyd "Alan" Meyers, 47, passed away Friday, March 20, 2009, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center. Alan was born in Nampa, Idaho, to Marilyn B. and Virgil L. Meyers on Dec. 10, 1961, the second of four children. He called Kalispell home, although the family moved between Idaho and Montana several times.

Alan was a talented, well-known mechanic in the valley. He had an affinity for animals and enjoyed anything outdoors. His passion was anything with wheels and a motor, most especially Harleys. He welcomed anything that seemed lost or didn't have anywhere to go, including vehicles, pets and people. He always made sure his friends and family knew his help was only a phone call away and his actions supported that countless times over the years.

Alan is survived by his mother, Marilyn B. Meyers of Columbia Falls; his brother, Marc Meyers, of Kalispell; his sisters, Cindy Lapka, of Sparks, Nev., and Melanie Meyers of Columbia Falls; and his soul mate and best friend, Carol Thill; along with various aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great-nephews.

Preceding him in death were his father, Virgil M. Meyers; his grandparents, William H. and Lucille C. Bird, and Louis and Esther Meyers, along with several aunts and uncles, cousins, and his beloved Gidget.

Memorial services for Alan will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, at the Kalispell Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Ed Koteskey officiating. Buffalo Hill Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the family.
