A memorial service will be Friday in Kalispell for a Columbia Falls woman and her 13-year-old son who were killed last week in a highway crash.
The service honoring the lives of Erin Julie Thompson, 35, and her son, Caden Vincent Odell, is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at the Christian Center Assembly of God Church.
Thompson, who worked at a Whitefish spa, was four months pregnant.
Odell attended Kalispell Middle School and was a member of the band. A fellow student has started an online blog and guestbook in Odell's memory at http://godblesscaden.webs.com.
Thompson was northbound on U.S. 93 near the intersection with Church Drive about 8:30 p.m. on March 19 when her Subaru Forester was struck head-on.
A southbound Pontiac Grand Am driven by a 16-year-old girl appears to have crossed completely into oncoming traffic, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.
Thompson and Odell are believed to have been heading home from a middle school musical performance.
The teenage driver, whose name has not been released, suffered extensive injuries.
She was in serious condition Wednesday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she was taken after being stabilized at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
She suffered massive internal injuries and numerous broken bones in the crash, according to her CaringBridge Web site.
