Meeting to discuss forest project funding

The U.S. Forest Service is scheduled to receive $1.5 billion in stimulus funds from the economic recovery act.
Some of that money will be designated for projects in the Flathead National Forest.
A meeting at the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce from 7 to 9 a.m. April 15 will explain the funding as well as the scope and type of projects for which the money is intended.
Forest Service officials will join Doug Bolender, the Chamber's director of government contracting services, at the briefing. They will include information on the process the Forest Service is using to get potential bidders involved.
The meeting will be held in the Kalispell Chamber conference room.
Because there is limited seating in the conference room, people should call 758-2800 by April 14 to reserve a seat.
