Big Sky, Sentinel top Flathead

MISSOULA -The Flathead softball team took more small steps forward Thursday afternoon.

The Bravettes fell to Big Sky, 1-0, and Sentinel, 6-2.

Flathead's Megan Hash struck out seven batters and gave up just two hits in the first game and had eight strikeouts in the second game.

"It was a great game. We lost on an error," Flathead coach Tim Severson said of the Big Sky contest.

"We played a solid game. We just didn't back Megan Hash's fine pitching performance," he said.

"What a warrior. She pitched great," Severson said.

"She's getting strong. We're making strides every day it seems like," he said.

"We definitely have improved. We actually started hitting the ball real hard this week. We hit every day and we are starting to see our batting pick up," he said.

He complimented the hitting of Christyne Hanson and Riana Dyer.

Dyer was 2-for-2 in her first varsity action against Sentinel.

The Bravettes (1-12) return home to host two games Saturday at the Conrad Complex. They face Helena High and Capital and 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
