Wolfpack win 2 out of 3 in softball

MISSOULA - The Glacier Wolfpack is coming on in Western AA softball.

The Wolfpack defeated Sentinel, 10-7, then split with Big Sky, 4-1 and 13-7 on Thursday.

The first game against Big Sky was the conference game.

"We won two out of three and we won the two that really counted," said Glacier coach Joel Bemis.

"I'm pretty pleased with how it went."

Kendra Bouley got both Wolfpack wins.

"She threw solid when we needed her to," Bemis said.

"It was a pretty defensive game. We played pretty cleanly and we got a couple of conference wins. It feels pretty good. The girls are continuing to learn to compete."

Glacier trailed Sentinel 3-2 after the first inning, but scored five runs in the fourth.

Micah Hergesheimer was a force at the plate for Glacier in that game. She batted 4-for-5 with two doubles and 5 RBIs.

The Wolfpack jumped on Big Sky with three first inning runs, then added a fourth run in the second inning.

Brittney Brown was 2-for-4 with a double.

In the second game, it was Big Sky jumping out ahead, with five runs in the first three innings. The Wolfpack bounced back and got as close as 5-4, but the Eagles answered with seven runs in the fifth.

The Wolfpack (6-7, 4-5) will play host at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to Helena High and Helena Capital. The games will be at Kidsport.
