POLSON - Hits were not in short supply for Polson on Friday as the Pirates slammed 13 in a 10-0 victory over Hamilton and followed with 20 more in a 12-7 triumph over Corvallis.

Both games were nonconference outings.

"I thought, overall, we hit the ball extremely well, especially in the middle order (of our lineup)," Polson coach Larry Smith said. "Kayla Duford was 4-for-4 with 2 RBIs 'versus Corvallis). She had a double and a triple. She ran the bases very nicely."

SuSan Perez-Tenas also went 4-for-4 in that outing. She drove in two runs.

"She's one of our slap hitters," Smith said.

"She hits ground balls and beats it out, very quick."

In the opener Sarah Newton homered with one on in the first inning to left-center field.

Sallie Sams crushed a home run to left in the fifth inning with two runners aboard.

Polson, 9-2 overall, 3-1 in league, plays a league game today at Libby, 3 p.m.
