A Hungry Horse resident reported a bunch of youths were lighting a log on fire and then urinating on the flames to extinguish them. The caller also suspected the youths were cutting down trees illegally. They were gone when a Flathead County sheriff's deputy arrived.

The "dead" horse reported at a hotel had gotten up and left by the time an animal control officer arrived.

Someone keeps taking down a for-sale sign at a house on Columbia Falls Stage Road.

Rowdy, intoxicated men were kicked off the train in Whitefish.

A digital camera and GPS unit, each valued at $150, were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on First Avenue West. An iPod and $35 cash disappeared from an unlocked car on 12th Street West.

A caller watched a middle-aged man give a young man cash in exchange for an unknown substance in a bag.

A Ford Explorer's rear window and a mailbox were damaged on Hawthorne Avenue.

While checking on someone at the corner of Fifth Avenue West and Seventh Street, officers arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of alcohol possession.

A man said people in a pickup stopped him at Center and Main streets and told him to give them his money. He felt threatened, so he reported the incident to police.

Officers arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of shoplifting at a supermarket.

Police arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer.

When her grandson's bike disappeared, a woman suspected her neighbors had taken it.

A woman, who may have been intoxicated, asked people for money outside the post office. She wouldn't leave when asked, but she was gone when an officer arrived.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested two youths, a brother and sister, on suspicion of family member assault.

Two teenagers were ticketed on suspicion of MIP.

Officers received 30 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police are investigating a report of a theft from a vehicle parked on Second Avenue West.

Officers received 35 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Alarms

Smith Valley Fire Department got a fire under control Friday afternoon in Kila.

Ambulances from the Evergreen and Kalispell fire departments took people to the hospital, including a pregnant woman, after an accident at the intersection of Reserve Drive and U.S. 2 Friday night.

The Kalispell Fire Department couldn't find anything hazardous while investigating a suspicious odor reported on Fifth Avenue East.
