Police are investigating the death of a 47-year-old Kalispell man shot Monday evening at his College Avenue residence.

The man?s name is being withheld pending the notification of family, Kalispell Police Chief Roger Nasset said.

Officers responding to a trailer home in the 300 block of College Avenue shortly after 6 p.m. found the man?s body, according to investigators. He appears to have been killed with a 20-gauge shotgun.

Another man, who has not been identified, called 911 from the home after the shooting, which investigators suspect occurred during a domestic violence situation, Nasset said.

Police are interviewing everyone who was in the trailer at the time and have the person believed to be the shooter in custody. That person?s identity also has not been released.

No arrests had been made as of 9:30 p.m. Monday night, Nasset said.

The department?s major case unit and detectives division are investigating the shooting. Further information was not available Monday.
