Voters choose trustees for six school districts

Twenty-two candidates will compete for 12 seats on six school boards during today's school elections.
Following is a list of polling places and times:
- Bigfork. Vote from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the ARK building in the back parking lot at Bethany Lutheran Church. For additional information, call District Clerk Eda Taylor at 837-7400.
Bigfork has two candidates - Maureen Averill and Rod Driver - for one three-year seat on the board. The winner will represent the elementary district.
- Fair-Mont-Egan. Polls are open from noon to 8 p.m. in the school music room. For further information, call District Clerk Susan Clanton at 755-7072.
Three candidates - Andrew "Andy" Goolden, Steven Knoll and Jerrold Moon - are battling for two three-year seats on the Fair-Mont-Egan school board.
- Helena Flats. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the school. For additional information, call District Clerk Tonnie Decker at 257-2301.
Helena Flats has two three-year terms and one one-year term on the ballot.
Candidates for the three-year terms are Kevin Fritz, Denis Johnson and incumbents Scott Warner and Erik Wenum. Candidates for the one-year seat are incumbent Emily Gillespie and David Mattson.
- Kalispell. The winning trustee candidate will represent the Somers-Lakeside and Kila districts on the high-school board.
Voters in those school districts may vote at Lakeside Elementary School and Somers Middle School from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. or at Kila School from noon to 8 p.m. For further information, contact District Clerk Todd Watkins at 751-3434.
Three candidates - Jean Barragan, Scott Harrison and Rob Keller - are running for the Kalispell school board.
- Marion. Vote at the Marion Fire Hall from noon to 8 p.m. For further information, call district clerk Rae Mitchell at 854-2333.
Marion School has two three-year terms and one one-year term on the ballot. Alisa Conklin-Jones and incumbents Ann Glimm and Lily Brower are the candidates for the three-year seat. Josh Nunn is running unopposed for the one-year seat.
- Smith Valley. Vote in the school gym from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, call district clerk Irene Edwards at 756-4535.
Four candidates - Bill Burback, Doug Canfield, Heidi Cook and Robert Sutton - are on the ballot to fill two three-year seats on the Smith Valley board of trustees.
