Authorities have released the name of a 42-year-old woman shot to death late Friday evening in Evergreen.

The victim is Michele Miller of Kalispell, Flathead County Sheriff Mike Meehan said Sunday.

The sheriff's office has Baron J. Foster, 47, in custody, and expects to have charges filed possibly today.

The shooting took place at Foster's apartment at 1501 Montana 35 at about 11:30 p.m. Friday.

Miller and a man were visiting Foster in his apartment when an argument broke out between her and Foster. Foster had been drinking, Meehan said.

Foster allegedly picked up a 9 mm pistol and fired it twice, Meehan said.

One bullet went through two neighboring apartments to be recovered in a third one - while hitting no one.

The other bullet hit Miller in the head.

Miller was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center, where she died shortly after her arrival.

Sheriff's detectives were working on determining the reason for the argument Sunday.

Additional details were not available Sunday.
