Ezekiel Joseph Jostrom, 30

| May 13, 2009 1:00 AM

Ezekiel Joseph Jostrom, 30, passed peacefully from this life Thursday, May 7, 2009, at home, comforted by the love and care of his parents and family. Zeke entered this world Sept. 16, 1978, the first of three sons of Michael and Susan Jostrom. They named him Ezekiel, meaning, "He who is strengthened by God." While congenital heart disease posed lifelong limits on his body, he possessed boundless faith, compassion, humor and courage. Zeke inspired all who knew him by the way he embraced life.

Zeke lived in St. Maries, Idaho, for the first 12 years of his life, and then moved to Kalispell, where he graduated in 1998 from Flathead High School and in 2001 from Big Sky Bible Institute. A man with a deep and unshakable faith, Zeke was active as a musician in the Central Bible Church of Kalispell and was a drummer for local bands including "Cactus." He was employed by KCFW-TV as a video editor before moving to Seattle in 2007.

In addition to his parents, Zeke is survived by two brothers, Peter and Gabe; sister-in-law, Ashley Austin; grandparents, aunts, uncles and nine cousins, who think he was "awesome."

The entire family is forever indebted to the medical professionals whose wisdom, skill and counsel made Zeke's extraordinary life possible, in particular his cardiologist, Dr. Hrair Garabidian, of Spokane who guided Zeke's care his entire life, and Dr. Michael Tuggy, his physician during his time in Seattle.

A memorial service is planned for 4 p.m. May 16 at Central Bible Church in Kalispell, with a dinner reception immediately following at Grouse Mountain Lodge in Whitefish.

Memorial donations can be made to Cardiac Camp for Kids at P.O. Box 8571, Spokane, WA 99203.
