Twins tip Mariners

Cody Hill used his arm and bat to push the Glacier Twins past the Mission Valley Mariners 10-6 in eight innings Friday at the Canadian Days Tournament in Kalispell.

Hill, 3-0, checked Mission Valley on five hits. Offensively, he went 2-for-4 and drove in four runs.

Mission Valley led 4-1 after three innings, and the game was tied at 5-all after six. Glacier, 4-2 overall, scored five times in the eighth to win it.

"I'm pleased with the way the kids fought back," Glacier coach Bill Sapa said. "They found a way to win. Hill played his heart out."

Tim Rausch ripped a two-run homer in the first inning for Mission Valley.

Glacier is back in tournament action today at 9 a.m. versus Sherwood Park.

The Missoula Pioneers scored three times in the bottom of the sixth to break a 5-all tie at the Canadian Days Tournament.

Brynn Thomas led Glacier offensively, going 3-for-4. Devyn Rocker and Ed Hynes both had two hits for the Twins, now 3-4.

Glacier plays Kalispell today in tournament action at noon.
