The Flathead County Planning Board backed a proposed zone change Wednesday that would allow a new gravel pit to be set up in Evergreen.
The board recommended 6-0 that the Flathead County commissioners change the zoning of 1.3 acres along Montana 35 from suburban residential to general business use. The site is next to a car dealership in a general business zone.
Robinson Sand & Gravel Inc. requested the zone change.
The board also recommended approval of a preliminary plat for 5.19 acres along the south side of the Lakeside area's Marco Bay Road to hold five single-family houses. Jim Kaski is seeking the preliminary plat approval.
