David Curtis Holt, 34
David Curtis Holt, 34, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 14, 2009, at Harbor View Medical Center in Seattle, with his loving family and friends by his side.
He was born on July 20, 1974, in Reno, Nev. His family moved to Washington where he attended school until he turned 18.
Dave moved to Montana in the fall of 1997, and he met his wife Jessica (Ness' Holt in the fall of 1998. They married July 27, 2001. They were blessed with three children - Ethan, 7, Mya, 6, and Averie, 3 months.
Dave didn't have an easy life, but he always made the best of what he had. He never did anything small, nor did he ever choose the easy route. When he made friends, he made them for life. Dave will be missed greatly by many and remembered by all who had the chance to get to know this remarkable man.
Dave loved spending time with his family and especially loved teaching his kids how to fish and enjoy the outdoors. He was always able to find something to do outside, winter or summer.
Those who knew Dave knew that the most important thing in his life was his wife and kids. He wanted more than anything to take care of his family, so he decided to pursue a lifelong dream. After a few months of long phone calls and meetings, he was accepted to the Divers Institute of Technology, in Seattle, to become a deep sea diver. This was his dream, he had planned on a bright future for himself, his beautiful wife and his three precious children.
Dave's life would seem too short for many, but those who were touched by him understand that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time which one lives. Dave lived life to the fullest.
"Whereever you are Dave, I love you husband; we love you, Dad; love you son; and love you brother."
He was preceded in death by his brother, George Bond, in 2005.
Dave is survived by his wife, Jessica, and children, Ethan, Mya and Averie; his brother, Gene Bond, and wife, Kari, and their children, Braden, 4, and Claire, 21 months; and by other family members, whether by blood or by just knowing Dave.
Memorial services for Dave will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 24, at The Chapel of Praise in Eureka. Donations may be made to the Dave Holt Benefit at the First Interstate Bank, Eureka.
