Whitefish police

A 17-year-old Whitefish boy was arrested Wednesday for text-messaging sexually explicit photographs of a 15-year-old girl over his cell phone. The boy, who was arrested in his home, is being held in the Flathead County juvenile detention facility. Sexual abuse of a child is a felony, according to the Whitefish Police Department.

Officers received 48 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Flathead County sheriff

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a reported assault at a tobacco shop on River Road in Evergreen. A man allegedly beat another man with a rod and then walked away. Deputies located the suspect and arrested him on suspicion of robbery.

Someone tried to break into a house on Second Avenue South in Hungry Horse, but nothing was taken.

A car ran into a utility pole near Woodland Park, but no one was around when deputies arrived. The driver, who was found with minor injuries, was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

A man walking down the middle of Montana 35 yelling and flipping off passing cars was arrested on an outstanding warrant for drug charges.

Two young children on Quail Ridge Drive left walking their dogs but failed to return. They were found unharmed.

Deputies were called to remove an unruly person from a bar on U.S. 93 in Lakeside. The woman refused to leave or get off the floor.

Responding deputies broke up disturbances between people on Grand Drive in Bigfork and on Solberg Drive in Evergreen.

Deputies received 160 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Kalispell police

Kids at Woodland Park allegedly hit a dog. Then the kids' mother allegedly came over and kicked the dog in the stomach. The dog's owner, another woman, reported the incident to Kalispell police - who later discovered both women are dating or dated the same guy.

A Toyota pickup truck reported stolen was found with the stereo missing and a beer can inside.

Officers contacted the mother of a small child who reportedly was alone and walked out into traffic on Fourth Street East.

Four men at a golf course on U.S. 93 allegedly hitting golf balls across the highway were gone when officers arrived.

A man and woman walked into a clothing store on U.S. 93 North, after which the man threatened to slit another person's throat.

Officers arrested two women, one for disorderly conduct and the other of obstructing justice and resisting arrest, after responding to a fight on Hawthorne Avenue.

A man on Third Avenue East North told officers someone got hold of his house key, broke in while he was sleeping, and made off with a coffee cup.

Officers received 105 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police are investigating a recent spike in attempted burglaries at businesses and thefts from vehicles. On Wednesday night, the windows were busted out of cars on Fourth Street and items were taken from a vehicle on Third Avenue West.

Officers received 32 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Alarms

The Evergreen Fire Department was paged out to a smoldering burn pile on Riverside Drive.

The Columbia Falls Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle crash in front of a convenience store on U.S. 2. Injured parties were taken to North Valley Hospital.

The Badrock Fire Department and Columbia Falls Fire Department were called to Montana 206 after a man up in a tree cut himself with a chain saw. He went to the hospital via private vehicle.
