Police investigate Kalispell stabbing

Kalispell police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Friday afternoon in the Sykes' parking lot on Second Avenue West.

A 19-year-old man was stabbed once in the leg during a fight with another man, said Kalispell police Detective Doug Overman.

The altercation reportedly began as an argument over a woman.

The suspect, who has not been identified, fled the scene. The victim told officers he did not know the man who stabbed him.

Officers were notified of the incident by personnel at the Kalispell Regional Medical Center emergency room, where the victim went after the incident.

Investigators have yet to release a description of the suspect.
