Flathead County Sheriff's deputies were notified of several people mysteriously missing in the early morning hours in Bigfork.
First a call came in at 1:34 a.m. Saturday about a missing person on Swan River Road. The person returned.
Bigfork teenagers were missing at 2:13 a.m. but they eventually returned also - and most likely got grounded.
A few people had a bad start to their holiday weekend. Deputies posted tax delinquency notices at four separate addresses Saturday on Lore Lake Road, one on Prairie View Road and two in Forest Acres.
A motorist called about a vehicle missing from Electric Avenue. It turned out a friend had moved the vehicle as a joke.
A 1932 Ford Coupe missing from West Valley turned out be a civil dispute between relatives.
A caller complained about gunshots disturbing the family dog in a rural area of the county. It turned out that a licensed gun range operates nearby, so the dog may need a custom set of ear plugs.
A rollover was reported near Hubbard Dam Saturday at about 3:15 p.m. Although the driver was ejected, the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
Deputies received 173 calls from 3:30 p.m. Friday to 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
Kalispell police
Kalispell City Police investigated a hit-and-run accident that damaged the rear end of a car parked at a shopping center in north Kalispell.
A person on Oberlin Loop reported finding stolen property at his residence and named two suspects.
A man called police to report that his soon-to-be ex-wife had been drinking for three days and was driving a white Dodge Caravan to get more alcohol to continue the binge. Officers could not locate her at the grocery stores mentioned.
A resident of Third Avenue West North called to ask if a neighbor could be charged with having too many cats after noticing felines licking the window for moisture. Officers informed the person that the city has no ordinance limiting cats per residence.
A neighbor on Third Avenue West North chased off two burglars dressed in black who were trying to get in the back door of a residence. The investigating officer found they had gotten into a nearby garage and house. They had rummaged through things but nothing seemed to be missing.
Officers settled a few fights early Saturday. They separated a man and woman who were fighting and throwing things on Liberty Street. The neighbors on Second Avenue East who had been verbally abusing each other had separated when officers arrived.
About 20 young people with skateboards were fighting at Woodland Park in the lower level near the duck pond when police arrived. They bumped the fight down to an argument, which they moved over to the skate park. No one wanted to press charges.
A man screaming and beating on a door in Kalispell wasn't in a fight after all. He told officers he was trying to get the attention of his wife and dog behind the locked door at 1:06 a.m.
Police arrested a man for assault after he refused to leave and shoved a person at a building on West Railroad Street.
A man called police to report he saw his stolen motorcycle fly by on Foy's Lake Road. Apparently, his former motorcycle was faster than his car, because he couldn't catch up to it.
Kalispell police received 73 calls between Friday at 3:30 p.m. and Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
Columbia Falls police
Columbia Falls Police officers investigated a stolen bike from Seventh Street West.
A noise complaint late Friday night resulted in officers breaking up an underage party on Martha Road and charging eight people.
Two 18-year-olds were charged with possession of dangerous drugs. A 20-year-old was charged with minor in possession of alcohol and possession of dangerous drugs. Three 17-year-olds and a 19-year-old and 20-year-old were charged with possession of dangerous drugs.
Columbia Falls officers received 33 calls between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
Whitefish police
Whitefish Police received two calls about a cougar on the prowl in the area of Wisconsin Avenue and Edgewood. The animal was gone when officers arrived.
