High-school graduation events begin tonight

High-school graduation season hits the Flathead Valley starting today, when seniors at Stillwater Christian School don caps and gowns and accept their diplomas.

Over the next week and a half, more than 1,000 graduates will participate in commencement ceremonies at eight schools.

Details on graduation ceremonies follow:

Stillwater Christian School

Commencement is 6:30 p.m. tonight in the school gym. There are 16 seniors in this year's graduating class.

Bigfork High School

Graduation begins at 2 p.m. Sunday in the school gym.

This year, 75 students will graduate.

Laser School

Laser students are counted as part of the Flathead High population, but seniors at the alternative school have their own ceremony at 11 a.m. June 5 at the Linderman Educational Center. Seventeen students finished school in February but will be recognized at the ceremony; another 30 graduate this spring.

Columbia Falls High School

This year's 195 seniors graduate at 11 a.m. June 6 in the school gym.

Glacier High School

The school's first-ever graduation ceremony is at 11 a.m. June 6 in the school gym. There are 235 students in Glacier's first senior class.

Whitefish High School

Commencement begins at 1 p.m. June 6 in the school gym. One hundred thirty-seven seniors - plus six foreign-exchange students - will participate in the ceremony.

Flathead High School

There are 305 seniors in this year's graduating class. Commencement starts in the gym at 3 p.m. June 6.

Bridge Academy

Bridge students graduate at 7 p.m. June 8 at the Outlaw Inn in Kalispell. There are 30 seniors in this year's graduating class - the largest in school history.
