Anna Lee Munson, 59

Anna Munson died suddenly at home May 17, 2009.

Anna, formerly Anna Lee Penkake, was born Aug. 8, 1949, in Lewistown.

Shortly after her graduation from Fergus County High School, she married Darrel Munson. The young couple moved to Kalispell where they lived before moving to Great Falls.

In 1975, Darrel and Anna began Munson Radio in Great Falls that became a successful business in owning and maintaining repeater stations and repairing radio-operated communications. In 1984, Darrel Munson died and Anna continued with the business for several years before selling it.

After their son Matthew graduated from high school, Anna moved back to Kalispell where she worked and enjoyed the mountains and beauty of the area. She loved snow-shoeing, skiing and hiking.

Anna is survived by her son, Matthew, of Grants, N.M.; daughter-in-law, Tanya; grandchildren, Devin and Alexia; and her brother, Allen, and wife, Marie, of St. Louis; along with niece, Collette Couzens; and nephews, Mike and David Penkake.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrel; her father, James Ward Penkake; her mother, Judith Perrine Penkake; and her sister, Julie Kibridge.

Services will held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 1, at the Buffalo Hill Funeral Home in Kalispell.
