Dozens of drunk-driving arrests
Flathead County Sheriff Mike Meehan reported Monday that there were 26 drunken driving arrests over the Halloween weekend by deputies, the Montana Highway Patrol and the Kalispell, Whitefish and Columbia Falls police departments. Those arrested included one man, 45, on his fourth drunk-driving charge, a felony, along with charges of driving without headlights, no liability insurance, careless driving and having an open container.
Deputies responding to a disturbance on Shady Lane in Evergreen Sunday night ended up arresting a woman for partner-family member assault.
There was a report of a riding lawnmower being stolen from a Sunny Lane residence in the Columbia Falls area, possibly by a spouse in a divorce dispute.
A man at a residence on U.S. 2 in Evergreen reported that another man stole his wallet, but he was so intoxicated that he could not give deputies a complete statement.
Monday morning, a woman came into the sheriff's office to report that her ex-boyfriend has been stalking and harassing her.
A man, 43, turned himself in at the sheriff's office on a felony revocation warrant.

The front lights to a store on Montana 35 in Evergreen were broken out, with roughly $1,000 in damage.
A person reported that a vehicle tire had been slashed at Evergreen Elementary.
A motorcycle was reported stolen from a dealership on U.S. 2 in Evergreen.
Sheriff's dispatch had 138 log entries between 3:30 p.m. Sunday and 3:30 p.m. Monday.
Responding to a disturbance at a residence on 17th Avenue West Sunday night, Kalispell police advised a woman that there is an outstanding Flathead County warrant for her arrest. The woman, who is nearly nine months pregnant, was not arrested.
A woman, 37, was arrested for shoplifting from a grocery store on Third Avenue East North.
After responding to a disturbance at an East Idaho hotel, officers found a highly intoxicated man in the same room with a woman and a baby. The man was transported to another location.
