Flathead County sheriff

A man called Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies after walking into an Evergreen convenience store and finding no one around. He yelled, but no one answered. Turns out the employee had fallen asleep.

Three boys grabbed a handful of cookies from the lobby of an Evergreen hotel then ran away. When they got outside, they reportedly began throwing rocks at the building’s windows.

Deputies arrested a girl after she allegedly kicked and punched a parent on South Woodland Drive.

Medication was reported stolen on West Reserve Drive. A deer head was taken from the back of a truck on Parliament Drive.

A logger came across a man with a cut on his head from a rollover crash in the Star Meadow area.

Deputies received 123 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Kalispell police

Kalispell police responded to Eighth Avenue West after a woman started having a panic attack because a man threatened to break in to the house. She was treated by paramedics and he was counseled on his behavior.

During a traffic stop on West Idaho Street, officers arrested one man on suspicion of DUI and a second man on an outstanding warrant.

Wedding rings were taken from a Fifth Avenue East apartment. A laptop computer was stolen from a home on Eighth Avenue East.

Officers received 74 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 10-year-old Willow Brook Close boy on suspicion of family member assault after an altercation late Tuesday.

A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after he drove off the parking lot of a U.S. 93 convenience store and into a tree.

Officers received 23 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police arrested a 46-year-old woman after she allegedly attempted to fill a fraudulent prescription at the pharmacy of a Nucleus Avenue grocery store.

Officers are investigating reports that money is being fraudulently taken from a bank account.

Kids smoking on private property off Fourth Avenue West also allegedly damaged a fence.

Officers received 39 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Alarms

The Columbia Falls Fire Department responded to Wishart Road after an electrical box caught fire and spread into the trees. The fire, which was about a tenth of an acre, was extinguished.

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to a crash involving two pickups on Montana 35, but no one was injured.

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to a Conrad Drive residence after the home’s chimney began glowing red. The occupant was advised to get the chimney cleaned.

Firefighters with the Columbia Falls Fire Department were called to extinguish a chimney fire on 10th Street West.

The Columbia Falls Fire Department responded to the post office after someone noticed the odor of natural gas.
