Marion J. Russell, 78, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at her home in Kalispell. She was born on Dec. 7, 1930, in Albert Lee, Minn., to Milton and Marguerite (Hoerger) Phelps. Marion was a career Air Force wife and enjoyed living in many places, but loved Montana most of all. In Montana, they lived in Havre, Helena, Missoula, Noxon, Kalispell, Turah and Butte. Following their retirement they enjoyed life in the logging industry and later built a shrimping boat, and were in the shrimping business in Louisiana for many years. Marion enjoyed traveling, knitting, puzzles, singing, playing pinochle and bringing happiness to others. She was a member of the Women s VFW, the Sunshine Choir and Kalispell RSVP, and received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award in 2005. Above it all, her family was her life. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Willis; and a daughter, Vicki. She is survived by her sons, Don and wife, Vicky, of Philipsburg, Scott and wife, Cindy, of Kalispell, and Brian and wife, Valerie, of Beaver, Wash.; grandchildren, Scarla, Ronnie, Christopher, Cole, Cheyanna, Jason and Julie; as well as eight great-grandchildren. There are no services planned at this time for Marion. The family suggests that any memorial contributions be sent to the charity of your choice.
