C. Falls wins Hamilton speech meet
Columbia Falls won its second straight speech and debate tournament Saturday in Hamilton.
Twelve schools competed at the two-day Hamilton Invitational. In Class A action, Columbia Falls squared off against Libby, Polson, Ronan, Corvallis, Stevensville, Hamilton, Frenchtown and Whitefish, which came in fourth.
Class B teams Loyola Sacred Heart from Missoula, Gardiner and Florence also competed at the tournament.
Columbia Falls led the Class A tournament with 93 points. Hamilton came in second with 80 points, and Stevensville finished third with 72 points. Whitefish ended the tournament with 57 points.
The teams’ next tournament is in Ronan Dec. 5. Local AA teams did not compete over the weekend.
