Pack of minors accuse man of backpack theft
Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an assault report involving six minors and a man, 24, at a Wood Acres Drive residence near Lakeside Sunday night. The youths had accused the man of stealing a backpack from their car and they demanded payment in return. Detectives are investigating.
A boy, 12, who had recently changed medications was out of control at a Mission Trail Road house. The boy was taken to the hospital to have his medications restored.
Deputies responded to a feud between a man and a woman who could not agree which one should be forced to leave a residence on Bear Trail. Neither ended up leaving.
There was a report of a drunk man causing a disturbance at a Kila Road residence, but the occupants ended up not telling deputies about the problem.
There was a report of an ex-boyfriend pounding on the door and making threats at a Frontage Road residence.
Early Monday, a person at a Hungry Horse residence reported his vehicle that been stolen earlier in the day. Several deputies responded, following shoeprints from the car to a nearby house, where five occupants were found, none of them claiming to own the shoes. Detectives are investigating.
Construction equipment was reported stolen from a home on Legend Trail.
A grinder was reported stolen from a tire shop on U.S. 2 East.
At least two vehicles parked at a business on the 2200 block of U.S. 2 East were reportedly ransacked, with stereo systems stolen.
Sheriff’s dispatch had 145 log entries between 3:30 p.m. Sunday and 3:30 p.m. Monday.
Kalispell police arrested a woman, 30, for partner-family member assault involving a minor at a Carnegie Drive residence Sunday night.
Monday morning, officers responded to a custodial interference situation in which a mother attempting to pick up a child encountered, at the father’s home on Ranchview Drive, an unknown woman who slammed the door in her face. The father arrived and the child was exchanged.
A purse was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked at a business on the 200 block of Second Street West.
A suicidal woman was detained for a mental health evaluation at a Windward Way residence.
There was a report of vehicles being egged on the 300 block Third Avenue East North.
About $170 in cash was reported stolen from the boys locker room at Flathead High School.

The Whitefish Fire Department and Montana Highway Patrol responded to a vehicle on fire on U.S. 93 south of Whitefish. The fire was handled in about 10 minutes and no one was hurt.
