Flathead County sheriff

The wife of a 36-year-old Whitefish man called Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies late Friday after her husband failed to return from a hunting trip at the appointed time. Authorities were hampered in starting a search because the man could have been hunting in several areas, including Taylor Creek, Hungry Horse Reservoir, Ashley Lake and Werner Peak. Turns out the man was in the Good Creek area and walked out with another hunter after spending a night in the woods.

A man in a Hungry Horse bar complained someone stole $300 from him, but then got kicked out of the establishment while deputies were en route. He left the area before they arrived. A little over three hours later, the man ran his pickup into a pole off Kelly Road and walked to a nearby fire station with a head injury. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Deputies responded to Lakeside Boulevard after a woman decided she needed to hide, first in the bathroom and then in the attic, from the man knocking at the door. Turns out it was her husband.

Kids reportedly were spotted running from an area off U.S. 2 north of Reserve Drive. Someone there had thrown gasoline into the road and lit it on fire, according to an onlooker.

Someone threw a rock through the window of a home on Klondyke Loop in Somers.

The locks were cut off a storage shed outside an army surplus store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen.

Deputies received 128 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
