Irma Rosenberg Walton, 87

Irma Rosenberg Walton, 87, passed away peacefully at her home in Columbia Falls on Friday Oct. 9, 2009.

She was born on Aug. 31, 1922, in Emmett, Idaho, to John and Dora White. She grew up with her two brothers, Verne and Allen, and they attended schools in Ellensburg, Wash.

Irma loved the outdoors and was always happy with a fishing pole in her hand. She loved to hunt for rocks, pan for gold, garden and was always up for a good time. She joined forces with her loving partner Bob on Dec. 6, 1961.

Irma was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dora White, and a daughter, Merna.

She is survived by her loving partner, Robert Walton, at the family home in Columbia Falls; brothers Allen White of Coos Bay, Ore., and Verne White of Yakima, Wash.; her son Mark Rosenberg and his wife Barb of Othello, Wash., her son Gary Thomas of Olympia, Wash., her daughter Sheila Thomas of Las Vegas; her dear granddaughter Jenna Rosenberg of Great Falls; a dear friend, Olie Patterson of Sheffield, Texas; her sister-in-law Dolly Lee and her husband Pat of Columbia Falls; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

A celebration of Irma's life will be held at noon Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, with the Rev. Darrell Newby officiating.
