Gretchen Elaine Sutton, 76

Gretchen Elaine Sutton passed away on Oct. 12, 2009, at her home in Lynnwood, Wash., after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Gretchen was born on Dec. 3, 1932, in Kalispell, to Thomas and Maybelle St. Germain. She moved with her family to Monitor, Wash., and graduated from Cashmere High School in 1951. Gretchen enlisted in the Women s Air Force. She was active in the Order of Eastern Star (Goldenrod and Alderwood Chapters) and a past Worthy Matron and Deputy Instructor. Gretchen was married to Mark J. Sutton Sr., for 27-plus years. She is survived by their children, Dean and Heather of Everett, Wash., Blanche and Sal Saladino of Poulsbo, Wash., Mary and Ken Thresher of Wenatchee, Wash., Mark and Glenna of Bremerton, Wash., Ray of Snohomish, Wash., and Brian and Stephani of Everett; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; niece, Germaine Belt, and nephew, Dale Gould, of Kalispell. A celebration of Gretchen s life, under the direction of Purdy & Waters Floral Hills in Lynnwood, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18. Viewing will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. An online memorial will be available at www.mem.com. Donations in memory of Gretchen may be made to Washington State Special Olympics, or Providence Hospice of Snohomish County.
