C. Martin Schrepfer, 81
C. Martin Schrepfer, 81, affectionately known as Marty, passed from this world into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, following heart surgery. Marty was born March 1, 1928, at home in Peoria Heights, Ill. He received his education in Peoria Heights and Woodruff High School in Peoria, Ill. He also served our country in the U.S. Army. While in the Army Marty became a carpenter instructor at Fort Lee, Va. After the service he continued a lifetime career as a general contractor. Marty was a builder in the Denver area until 1971 when he moved the family to the Hubbard Ranch near Marion. For the past 18 years he and his wife Connie have lived in Lakeside. Marty was a hard-working man, but loved life and lived it to the fullest. In addition to construction he enjoyed cattle ranching, farming, downhill skiing, hunting, fishing and extensive travel. He also loved Jesus Christ and served his Savior on a number of mission trips to foreign countries, including Mexico, Thailand and El Salvador. Some have said that Marty was like his truck, There s a lot more under the hood that you can t see from the outside. If you lifted the hood what you would see would both amaze and amuse you. Marty loved his family and never failed to tell them so. He is survived by his wife, Connie; his sister, Mary Jean Clark, and her husband, Gene, of Peoria Heights; and his three sons, Matt and his wife Juanetta of Eureka, Pete and his wife Brenda of Trinidad, Colo., and Bill and his wife Lauri of Kalispell. Marty has eight grandsons and five great-grandchildren. He also loved Connie s three daughters, Jacki, Bobbi and Shari, and their husbands, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Marty had many close friends in the Flathead. Everyone is invited to be part of his celebration of life at 2 p.m. on Oct. 29, at the Christian Center, 255 Summit Ridge Drive, in Kalispell.
