Marica Grace Weller, 42
Marica Grace Weller, 42, passed away Oct. 15, 2009, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center. She suffered injuries as a result of being hit by a car.
Marica was born Feb. 26, 1967, at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego to Gary and Janet Weller. She attended elementary school at Onconta School in Imperial Beach, Calif., with the remainder of her education in Columbia Falls.
Marica worked several different jobs, all in the service industry. Her job at the Woodland Qwik Stop, where she was working at the time of her death, was by far her favorite. She loved her fellow employees and had many favorite customers. She will be greatly missed. She radiated kindness and love.
We would like to make special mention of Marica's "Street Family," whom she loved and cherished very much. They were always there for her in times of sorrow.
Marica was very athletic and was the first girl to play baseball in Imperial Beach, and played softball with her Pops in Wasilla, Alaska. She also loved shooting hoops with her son Gary and nephew Elijiah. She was a "shark" pool player and had a love affair with muscle cars.
She was never more alive than when she was holding a child. Her grandchildren made her smile most of all; it was obvious how much she loved them. She was a giver, a collector of friends, a daughter, sister, auntie, mother and grandmother.
"She's part of the strand that sews us all together, an infinite light piercing through the hearts of us all."
Marica was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ed and Grace Fenner and Lawrence and Una Weller; her son, Gary Hower; stepmother, Mona Weller; stepgrandfather, Percy Jelleff and a favorite aunt, Gerry Ryan.
Marica is survived by her mother and Pops, Janet and Matt McConville; father and stepmother, Gary and Donna Weller; stepgrandmother, Audrey Jelleff; two sisters, Rita Searles and her husband Bryan, and Darla Weller; a brother, Norman Weller and his wife Tana; three stepsisters, Shannon Messer and her husband Craig, Angie Chavez and Raejon Nielsen; stepbrother Shane Nielsen; daughters Christina Fieler and her husband Jake, and RaeLene Evans; and grandchildren Madison, Austin and Marley. She will be greatly missed by her nephews Joshua Weller, Elijiah Weller, Skyler Barron, Richard Chavez, Dalton Emmerson and Brady Messer; and nieces Bryanne Hinsz, Courtney Osier, Gabrielle Weller, Casandra Chavez, Jessica McCullam and Arista Barron.
A celebration of Marica's life will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the United Methodist Church, 117 Second St. W., Columbia Falls, with the Rev. David Merkel officiating. A reception will follow at the church.
An account has been set up at the Whitefish Credit Union in Kalispell under Darla Weller's name in memory of Marica Weller, to help with funeral costs.
