Gunshots meant to scare bear

The Flathead County Sheriff's Office got a report of gunshots near a Hungry Horse store on U.S. 2 Sunday night. It turned out to be someone firing a gun to scare off a bear.

A girl, 17, was arrested for shoplifting at Walmart.

After a disturbance at a home on the 300 block of Park Street, deputies separated and counseled a man and woman.

A mother and daughter were counseled after an altercation at a Silver Leaf Drive residence.

A man, 26, was arrested for partner-family member assault after an altercation at a residence on the 1500 block of Montana 35 in Evergreen.

Early Monday, deputies responding to a report of two men attempting to break into a vehicle ended up arresting a man on a probation violation.

There was a report of wheels and tires being stolen from a vehicle at a business on U.S. 2 south of Kalispell.

A wallet was reported stolen at a restaurant on Montana 35 in Evergreen.

The county road department reported that a window was broken out of a loader while parked at the county's Cemetery Road lot.

A construction site on Blacktail Road was vandalized by someone who spilled paint all over the place.

Tires were reported stolen at a Harmony Road residence.

Sheriff's dispatch had 119 log entries between 3:30 p.m. Sunday and 3:30 p.m. Monday.

After a traffic stop on 18th Street and Main Street Sunday night, Kalispell police arrested a man, 20, on a Flathead County contempt warrant.

Early Monday, a woman reported that she had been assaulted at a bar on U.S. 2 South.

There was a report from a home on the 400 block of Fourth Street East regarding a grandson stealing his grandmother's cat.

A woman was detained on mental health charges at a residence on the 600 block of North Meridian.

A license plate was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a residence on the 1300 block of Seventh Street West.

Whitefish police arrested a man, 44, for drunk driving and no insurance Sunday night after a traffic stop on U.S. 93 and Montana 40.

A woman, 18, was arrested by Columbia Falls police Monday morning for false reporting and obstructing peace officer charges out of Whitefish.

Alarms

The Kalispell Fire Department extricated a man from a vehicle after a crash on U.S. 2 near the Willow Glen intersection early Monday. He was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to a house fire Monday morning on Spring Creek Road in Evergreen. The fire was brought under control within about a half hour and no one was hurt.
