Flathead County sheriff

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies responded Thursday afternoon to a disturbance involving family members on White Birch Lane. Six people reportedly were yelling at a resident's mother.

A man threatened to take his children and then refused to leave a Park Street house during a custody dispute with the mother.

Deputies moved to intercept a suspected stalker traveling northbound on Montana 35 from the Lake County line.

A Lakeside man allegedly hit a young child in the head, sending the child to the hospital with a cut.

Hunters who failed to return on time from the Tally Lake area were found unharmed.

A break-in was reported Thursday afternoon at a residence on Montana 35 in Evergreen. The door was damaged but nothing appeared to be missing.

Items allegedly were stolen from a storage unit near Whitefish, and the owner's home was hit too.

Deputies received 111 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Kalispell police

A woman on Empire Loop told Kalispell police that her boyfriend, upset because her ex-husband had been around, grabbed her and bit her nose. She later told officers his teeth only grazed her when he licked her face.

Officers told a man who allegedly tried to break down the door to a North Belmar Drive residence during an argument with the woman inside to leave and not return.

Two men outside the post office on First Avenue West were pushing a stroller with no baby in it.

A Seventh Street West man was threatened by another man, who then refused to leave the residence.

The son of a former tenant keeps hanging out in an alley off Fourth Avenue West, and the owner is afraid he might damage a trailer parked there.

A woman somewhere in the Kalispell area told police her ex-boyfriend abused her and that she needed advice on how to get a restraining order.

Someone threw a beer bottle through the back window of a Fourth Street West residence.

Two teens trying the door handles to vehicles off 12th Street West told a passerby they were attempting to set off car alarms.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of DUI during a traffic stop outside a Baker Avenue grocery store.

Officers received 35 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police arrested a 40-year-old man for shoplifting from a Nucleus Avenue grocery store.

Officers received 14 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Alarms

The Smith Valley Fire Department responded Thursday night to a crash on Phanco Lane.

The Columbia Falls Fire Department was paged out to a slash pile burning on timber company land off Trumble Canyon Road.
