A man who brought his truck into a shop on U.S. 93 south of Kalispell for maintenance work told an employee he shot the last mechanic who overcharged him in the head and buried him.

The employee called Flathead County Sheriff's deputies, who are following up with the man but aren't convinced a crime was committed.

Deputies were unable to find a man on Montana 83 who reportedly kept bicycling into traffic. A passing motorist thought he had a death wish.

A Parliament Drive resident returned home to find the shed broken into and a hedge trimmer missing. The item later was found in an area pawn shop.

Three guns - two rifles and a pistol - went missing from a home on Twin Bridges Road. A bottle with about $200 in change was stolen on Foxhill Drive.

Advice was dispensed to a Farm To Market Road resident who allegedly is being harassed by a 17-year-old.

An intoxicated man panhandling outside a store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen was told to move along. Several hours later, deputies were called to a convenience store on U.S. 2 near Kila - where the same man, still intoxicated, was bothering customers.

Deputies received 135 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kalispell police

A Third Avenue West woman, who had run outside to call for help, told Kalispell police her husband was out of control. He was told to leave for the night, but later returned to drop off a dog and pick up a car. Officers responded a second time and informed him he would be arrested if he showed up again.

Someone shot a bullet through the wall of an insurance company on North Meridian Road.

A woman told officers that she was followed by a man as she left Lawrence Park.

Children throwing firecrackers from a car near Flathead High School were warned to quit.

A woman on Sixth Avenue West North told officers that her boyfriend, who then went outside with his mother, had spit in her face.

A Glacier High School student allegedly brought a weapon and tobacco to school.

Officers responded twice in an hour to a home on Eighth Avenue West to separate people fighting over their kids. A neighbor also somehow got involved.

Officers received 94 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 22-year-old woman for driving on a suspended license, without insurance, and for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk during a traffic stop on Spokane Avenue.

Officers served warrants on a 30-year-old woman delinquent in paying her fines, an 18-year-old man wanted for theft, and an 18-year-old man accused of an alcohol-related crime.

Officers received 38 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police arrested a 26-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman in connection with a suspected DUI during a traffic stop on U.S. 2.

Officers received 29 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Alarms

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to Second Street East after a Ford Bronco caught fire.

The Creston Fire Department responded to Bench Drive after a plume of smoke was reported near a residence and the Evergreen Fire Department responded to Spruce Road after receiving reports of a fire. Turns out the first was controlled and the latter was recreational.

The Kalispell Fire Department and Lakeside Quick Response Unit responded to a convenience store on U.S. 93 to treat a person who may have overdosed.

The Evergreen Fire Department and Kalispell Fire Department were dispatched to a crash on U.S. 2.

Miscellaneous

Deputies were unable to find anything amiss after a single shot was reported on Nicholson Drive. Later, a shot was heard from a motel on Montana 35 in Evergreen. Turns out a hit deer was being dispatched.

A parent who has custody of a 16-year-old girl accused the teen's 18-year-old sister of interfering.

Someone broke into the Hungry Horse Fire Hall and stole a rack off a fire truck.

Pop and beer were stolen from a convenience store on U.S. 93 South. A purse went missing from a car on First Avenue East.
