An argument between a man and a woman, reportedly in the process of splitting up, started over the mail. Flathead County Sheriff's deputies responded when the situation began to get out of hand. The argument, however, remained verbal and no one was arrested.

Deputies responded to Angel Point in Lakeside after a woman complained about a person knocking on her door and then leaving, four times.

An allegedly intoxicated man tried to flee from a traffic stop on U.S. 2 and Montana 40. He was chased down and arrested. He later acted out in the jail, winding up in the soft cell.

Someone stole items from a car on First Avenue South in Hungry Horse. A window had been left open.

Deputies were called to remove a man bothering people at a convenience store on U.S. 2 and Montana 40.

Hikers in the Jewel Basin area reported missing Thursday evening weren't actually missing. They emerged safely.

A man fled when deputies arrived on scene at the argument he was having with a woman near Jellison Road. He escaped after a short pursuit, but was arrested when he returned.

Deputies received 179 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Kalispell police

A Hawthorn Avenue man told Kalispell police his soon-to-be ex-wife showed up and kicked him in the face.

A man somewhere in the Kalispell area complained that another man was refusing to return his money.

Officers told a man at a shelter to leave after he allegedly threatened another resident.

A mail truck parked for more than an hour on Liberty Street attracted attention, especially since the mail carrier was nowhere to be seen. Turns out the truck had broken down.

Officers separated people arguing on 11th Street West. A man allegedly had tried to run a woman and her kids off the road.

While responding to reports of an altercation on Airport Road, officers arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of assault and disorderly conduct.

A man and woman arguing on Second Avenue East went into a nearby house. Concerned for the woman's safety, an observer called police, who ended up arresting the man on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

An intoxicated man riding a four-wheeler hit a parked car, then allegedly tried to start an altercation. He was arrested for reckless driving and possession of a switchblade.

Officers received 87 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 22-year-old man late Thursday on two Flathead County warrants for failure to appear.

Someone drove away from a Spokane Avenue gas station early Friday morning with the pump's nozzle hanging out of their tank. The perpetrator was later arrested on reckless driving, negligent endangerment, criminal mischief, and hit-and-run charges.

Officers received 36 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police received 24 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Alarms

The Bigfork Fire Department responded to Echo Lake Road after a power line went down.

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to a Wisconsin Avenue restaurant after someone smelled natural gas.
