Bravettes down Capital spikers

HELENA - Hannah Sackett had 19 kills and Danika Johnson turned in nine blocks as the Flathead Bravettes defeated host Helena Capital in 4 games on Saturday.

Volleyball scores were 22-25, 25-20, 27-25, 25-12.

Mary Allen contributed nine kills and 24 digs for the Bravettes and Alison Lunde had 30 assists.

The Bravettes (3-1, 1-1) played better all around than they did in Friday's 4-game loss to Missoula Hellgate.

"They were obviously tired from the long match Friday, but they played very hard through that. There were still some ups and downs, but they battled through those better and there were fewer unforced errors on our part," said Flathead coach Leon Wilcox.

"They did a good job of overcoming the fatigue and battling through it," he said.

The coach complimented Johnson's effort on the net.

The Bruins had a total of 28 hitting errors - and Wilcox said Johnson was a big part of that.

"In a lot of ways, she negated the efforts of their middle and forced them to go outside," he said.
