Stillwater nips Polson in soccer
The Daily Inter Lake
POLSON - Ryan Thompson, on an assist by Wes Halliburton, scored the game-winning goal at the 73-minute, 10-second mark, lifting Stillwater Christian School to a 2-1 nonconference soccer victory Tuesday over Polson.
Polson tied the match at 1-all on Peter Hanson's goal at 50:10.
"Rough game," Stillwater coach Timothy Anderson said.
"Both sides played scrappy soccer tonight. It was good to have a win.
"Thompson had a great finish," Anderson added.
"The ball was crossed by Steven Meadows, chested down by Wes Halliburton, and Thompson broke through their defense to go one-one-one with the keeper."
Stillwater, 1-2-2, hosts Foothills Community Christian School on Friday at 4 p.m.
