Bernard L. Vickhammer, 82

Bernard L. Vickhammer, 82, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009, at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls. Bernard was born Aug. 21, 1927, in Malta, where he was raised as a small boy. Bernard was an honorably discharged veteran from the Korean Conflict era.

He owned and operated his own construction business before retiring.

A giving man, Bernard was always making contributions to charitable organizations throughout his whole life. He enjoyed tinkering with his son's automobiles.

On Oct. 6, 1949, he married JoAnn Cross.

Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Vergie Vickhammer; and a brother.

He is survived by three sons, Randy, Daryl, and Steve; sister, Laura; and seven grandchildren.

Private family graveside services will be held.
