Flathead County sheriff

A fireball, accompanied by blinking lights, was reported in the Hash Mountain area. Flathead County Sheriff's deputies looked into the matter and discovered the object was an airplane, but it had never crashed.

Game wardens were called to a Rhodes Draw residence after a bear was spotted in a tree in the yard. A bear got caught in a trap, oddly enough, on Griz Lane.

A Wettington Drive woman reported she was being harassed by the neighbors, who allegedly left a note concerning the inadequate care of her dogs.

The sister of a Whitefish Stage Road man was staying on his property while he was out of town. He wanted her removed.

DVDs and CDs were stolen from a residence on Parliament Drive. The person who called deputies has a suspect in the break-in.

Gunshots were heard in the Foy's Lake Road area, but deputies were unable to find anything amiss.

Someone illegally climbed into a milk delivery truck and climbed out with a camera and a rifle.

A jar of frosting wielded by a Bigfork resident's 21-year-old son was used to break out a window.

Deputies received 167 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Kalispell police

A woman on 10th Avenue West told Kalispell police Wednesday night that her neighbor's intoxicated friend fondled her. Officers were back at the residence Thursday after a nasty and vulgar message was found scrawled on the door.

Parts were stolen from a car parked on a lot of U.S. 93 South. Medication was taken from a car at an East Idaho Street grocery store.

A woman allegedly tried to walk out of a store on U.S. 93 North without paying for $1,000 in electronics. She fled, without the goods, but was tracked down at a nearby business and arrested on suspicion of drug possession.

Reports that kids were fighting outside a bar on U.S. 93 South were unfounded.

Officers were called to remove a hostile parent from a school on Fourth Avenue East.

A woman told police that she believes the people who she gave a ride home from the bar stole her wallet.

Officers received 91 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 21-year-old woman on suspicion of DUI during a traffic stop on Baker Avenue.

A 24-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct after a disturbance behind a Central Avenue bar.

Officers received 46 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Alarms

Paramedics with the Whitefish Fire Department responded to Montana Avenue to treat a woman with stomach pains. She was taken to North Valley Hospital.

The South Kalispell Fire Department responded to Anderson Lane after a resident complained about a recreational fire. It was extinguished.

The West Valley Fire Department responded to a rollover crash on Stillwater Road, but no one was around the vehicle.

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to West Evergreen Drive after a lightning strike set a tree on fire. The flames were extinguished.

A wildfire at the end of Three Mile Drive, reportedly caused by lightning, was extinguished by state and local firefighters.
