Marcella Margaret Gillig, 77
Marcella Margaret Gillig, 77, passed away Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at her Kila residence.Marcella was born April 3, 1932, in Lincoln, N.D., and was raised in Denhoff, N.D.
She married Alvin Gillig on Dec. 10, 1950, in Denhoff. They were married 58 years at her passing.
Marcella was a very hardworking, dedicated woman.She always found the good in everyone and never said anything bad about anyone. She worked as a nurse for 25 years and retired. Afterwards, she cleaned homes for about 10 more years.She was a woman who could never sit still and had to keep busy.
She was dearly loved and will be truly missed. Marcella was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and volunteered at the community center as much as she could.When she lost her vision to macular degeneration her volunteering became hard to do but she kept at it.She was very dedicated to her church and church family.
Marcella loved to entertain and to cook,at which she was the best. She could satisfy everyone. She was so kind and loving. She loved to participate in any church activity that had been planned.
Marcella is survived by her husband, Alvin, of Kila; daughter, Delight Gillig, of Kila; sons, Lyle and wife, Beverly Gillig, of Hot Springs, and Woody and wife, Deb Gillig, of Talbott, Tenn.;'sisters, Doris, Vera and Frances; and a brother, Phil Werner; six grandchildren, Tonia Howe, Ryan, Josh and Eric Gillig, Erin Wagar and Elisha Vega; 16 great-grandchildren, Joseph and Anthony Hoelscher, Briana Karrick, Ryan, Tristan and Cassandra Gillig, Wade and Cole Gillig, Airean, Adrian and Ajay Gillig, Cierra and Conner Wagar, and Megan, Kaelee and Courtney Fultz; sister-in-law, Judy Gillig; and nephew, Christopher Gillig.
Visitation for Marcella will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 23, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held locally at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Kalispell.
Funeral services will also be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Bismarck, N.D. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Bismarck.
