RONAN - Mitchell Wassam threw four touchdown passes and kicked a field goal to lead Columbia Falls (3-2, 1-0) to a 31-6 Northwestern A football victory over Ronan (1-3, 0-1) on Friday.

Columbia Falls, up 14-6 at the half, broke the game open in the second half.

"We started off real slow," Columbia Falls coach Bill Coleman said.

"We were hit by the injury bug in the first quarter. We were scrambling putting people in there."

The Wildcats lost starting tight end/nose guard Cale Vukonich to injury in the opening quarter. Coleman said Matt Hollo took over at TE and played well.

"We took a step forward this week," Coleman said.

"We're getting better week to week."

Coleman said Wassam set a new school record with his four TD strikes. He was 12 of 20 passing for 195 yards.
