Busted gate leads to plea for help

A Plentywood Drive woman called Flathead County Sheriff's deputies for help after her 14-year-old son reportedly busted a safety gate in their home's hallway.

Someone overturned a picnic table outside a Bigfork restaurant, damaging it in the process.

A gunshot reportedly was heard on Kings Way, but deputies were unable to find anything amiss.

Deputies responded to Mountain Drive because a woman wanted an intoxicated man in her house removed. He was given a ride away from the residence.

A Sharon Road woman thought she heard someone in her backyard and called authorities, who didn't find anybody there.

Someone allegedly tried to get into a Hungry Horse man's bedroom window, but then ran off.

The drunk kid in a Ridgewood Drive resident's backyard was cited for possession of alcohol. The homeowner thought he was trying to break in and called deputies.

A man in the Essex area says he shot the four grizzly bears that were chasing him.

Deputies received 170 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

A fight Saturday night at a bar on U.S. 93 South reportedly involved up to 12 people, but had pretty much broken up when Kalispell police arrived. Intoxicated participants were sent home.

Someone at the fairgrounds for the quilt show was accused of verbally abusing vendors and customers.

Officers spoke with two young boys vandalizing trees at a Center Street mall.

Four boys walked into an Empire Loop garage and tried to make off with some stuff. They dropped the items, reportedly balloons and a bag, and ran off when confronted.

A man at a U.S. 93 South hotel caused a disturbance in the lobby after another man asked him to leave the room and not return. He was taken to stay at a different motel.

Officers arrested a Third Avenue East man on suspicion of partner assault after he allegedly punched his girlfriend in the face.

A man having a loud and extended phone argument with his Missoula girlfriend was asked to take the matter inside his First Avenue West residence.

Officers received 93 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Whitefish police received 20 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Columbia Falls police received 22 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Alarms

Bigfork Fire Department and Bigfork Ambulance responded to Montana 35 after a car ran off the road. No one was seriously injured.

The Kalispell and West Valley fire departments responded to a dirt bike crash on Birch Grove Road but did not transport the rider to the hospital.
