Fish camp open to young anglers
Swan Ecosystem Center will hold its eighth annual Fish Camp from 10 a.m. Aug. 12 to 1 p.m. Aug. 13. Campers will receive fishing instruction, learn fishing ethics and regulations, practice catch-and-release techniques and fish identification, along with much more.
Children will have an opportunity to fish at the Swan Pond, a children’s fish pond in the Swan River State Forest. Camping will include Leave No Trace camping techniques. Fisheries biologists and technicians, as well as Hooked on Fishing presenters, will provide a wide variety of informational sessions.
Food and fishing gear are provided, but campers will need to provide their own personal gear and camping equipment. A list is provided at sign-up. Participation is limited to 10 campers, ages 10 to 13. The fee is $10 per camper, or $20 for a family of three.
Sign up deadline is Aug. 6. For more information and to sign up, call Swan Ecosystem Center at 406-754-3137.
