The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at the Evergreen Kmart that occurred Tuesday night when an unknown suspect stole prescription medications from the pharmacy.

Patrol Lt. Brad Stahlberg said Friday that a “considerable” amount of medication was stolen, though the exact value and other details are being withheld as the investigation continues.

The suspect can be seen on surveillance footage from inside the store, according to Kmart employees and the Sheriff’s Office.

Stahlberg said the man apparently entered through the front door prior to closing, then emerged from hiding to burglarize the pharmacy.

He left the building through a different door.

Kmart Assistant Manager Mark Schreibeis said the business is withholding comments on the burglary to aid the investigation.

He said no damage was done to the pharmacy and the stolen medications have been replenished.

The burglary was reported to the Sheriff’s Office just after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Schreibeis said the pharmacy opened as scheduled on Wednesday.
