It’s almost time to go back to school, but first Kalispell’s high school students have to take care of some paperwork. They’ll get their chance Monday and Tuesday at Glacier and Flathead.

Glacier High School’s Student Jamboree is from noon to 7 p.m. Monday and from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Students will have the opportunity to pick up their student ID cards, handbooks, class schedules, parking decals and locker assignments. They will also be able to set up food court accounts, buy physical education uniforms and Wolfpack apparel and purchase activity tickets and yearbooks.

The jamboree is also a good time for students unfamiliar with Glacier to figure out where their classes will be.

Flathead High School’s Back to School Open House takes place on the same days. Seniors attend from 8 to 11 a.m. Monday, freshmen from noon to 3:30 p.m. Monday, juniors from 8 to 11 a.m. Tuesday and sophomores from noon to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

During open house, underclassmen will get their school pictures taken in the auditorium main lobby; get their locker numbers (freshmen, sophomores and juniors will be assigned lockers); and buy activity tickets, provide their parents’ e-mail addresses and pick up schedules in the main office.

Last year’s parking permits are still valid; those who need a permit may pick one up in the main office. There is a $5 replacement fee for lost or additional permits, and students should know that having a decal won’t guarantee them a parking space.

At both schools, the first day for freshmen is Wednesday, Aug. 25. Other students go back Thursday, Aug. 26.
